Many of today's pilots are discovering the daily comfort and ease of driving that comes from smaller motor bikes and more ordered dimensions. Here are some of the latest bikes, big and small, that provide serious bang for your buck at this time.

Yamaha SCR 950

Yamaha SCR 950 - Price: $8,700

It is no secret that we have a weakness for retro style bikes. And the new Yamaha SCR 950 hits all the right notes. Just check out the vintage sweet lace wheels and old school number plates. The SCR looks like something that would come out of Steve McQueen's garage in the seventies. The new on / off road demodulator machine is based on the bones of the Yamaha Bolt cruiser, including its Twin Twin Air of 942 cc. But the transformation to SCR was achieved by adding a higher suspension and the handlebar to a comfier driving position. Of course, with relatively modest supports, the SCR will not keep up with the more focused bikes dedicated to ground sports or hustling backroad. But with an easy-to-ride personality, classic styling, and an estimated 51 mpg, the SCR is a bike that looks like a weekend toy, but makes an excellent everyday rider.

Suzuki Vanvan 200

Suzuki Vanvan 200 - Price: $4,600

The original Vanvan dates all the way back to the early 1970s, and a revived version has been sold overseas for several years. But this year we have the opportunity to swing a leg over this affordable little tyke. Do not expect much power: there is only one individual cylinder of 199cc that hits hard and is backed by five speeds. But because it weighs only 282 pounds, it should be very nimble and a bit of fun to wander around the city. The Vanvan is built for comfort with a thick, wide seat and vertical controls. So here would be a great first bike for someone who does not want to spend a lot on their new hobby. The thin fuel tank helps keep the proportions of this machine tidy, but with just 1.7 gallons on board they do not expect to ride this bike without many pitstops.

Triumph Street Cup

Triumph Street Cup - Price: $10,500

Triumph has shown that expensive bikes and classic styling do not have to go hand in hand. Last year, the company completely redesigned and modernized the Bonneville line with various engine sizes and power outputs. The new Street Cup, based on that Bonne, is like a Thruxton smaller, cheaper and more friendly. The Cup uses the slightly tuned 900cc version of the twin twin engine but the engineers included a throttle exhaust system. The Street Cup was designed to resemble a faithful recreation of a classic coffee runner.

And works. The cyclist sits down and on this bike, thanks to the handlebars, and hides behind a small mosquito net. But the crew of Triumph made some special adjustments in the Bonne chassis to sharpen its handling, including a single suspension. And do not let the looks fool you. The Cup might look vintage, but Triumph has loaded with modern technology like cable accelerator and ABS.

Honda CBR500R

Honda CBR500R - Price: $6500

Honda's medium-weight sportbike, the CBR500R, is one of those rare bikes with great appeal. It's a great machine for first time riders as well as experienced enthusiasts who appreciate agile size, low price and solid handling The parallel parallel 471cc is smooth and torquey and happy to rev, and the suspension is very comfortable and obedient, either in the city or in the canyons. The CBR500R benefited from some substantial changes last year including a revised suspension, a new style, and a new exhaust and consumption. Translation? It looks and sounds even better than before. But what has not changed is its state has a gateway to the culture of sports bike.

Kawasaki Z125 Pro

Kawasaki Z125 Pro - Price: $3000

Honda broke new ground with its Grom minibike in 2014. It was cute, fun, and quickly became cult. The bike was a success, Kawasaki wanted a portion of that unique 125cc cylinder cake. The new Z125 Pro is ultra-compact and lightweight (225 lbs). In addition, it reduces the price of Honda. In fact, it's the only bike on our list that falls below $ 3,000. The low seat height of 31.7 inches means that it is an easy machine for riders with almost any stature. The Z125 certainly looks aggressive and has a sporty style suspension that should make an explosion in the city. Of course, if you need to hit the freeway, this little Kawi will not cut it. But it is so small and cheap, we could see one and park it right next to a full size motorcycle as a small hopper. Best of all? The Z125 should return close to 100 mpg.

Victory Octane

 Victory Octane - Price: $10,000

Victory motorcycles do not come cheap, and practically never go south of $ 10,000. But that changes this year with the new Octane. Although not a totally new motorcycle, share some of your mechanical makeup with the Scout 60 from India. But that's certainly not bad because the Scout made our best shopping list last year. The 1200-liquid-cooled V-Twin is a modified version of the Scout's power. It is also where it offers 104 hp and 76 lb-ft of torque. The suspension has been calibrated for a sportier feel, too. Because it weighs over 100 pounds less than Victory's own Vegas, this low-priced machine is also one of the fastest and most rewarding to ride on the company line. Compared to the classic Indian style, the Octane looks more like a muscular street fighter-and we certainly like that aesthetic.

Ducati SuperSport

Ducati SuperSport - Price: $13,000

Modern sports bikes have the technology, power and precise handling to make the transition from road to track. But is not there space for a sport bike that is a bit more comfortable? Apparently yes. Ducati has created a sportbike that is friendly to ride every day. The driving position is more upright, at least your body weight is centered on your wrists. Still, this is still a bestially fast machine thanks to 937 cc L-Twin refrigerated liquid that puts it at 113 hp up to 9,000 rpm. And with only 463 pounds to pull around, you certainly will not miss it when the road twists. The Supersport comes standard with a system that features in specific driving and power modes (not unlike a modern high performance sports sedan) and includes traction and ABS. And because it is a Ducati, the Supersport is a beautiful bike. For those who need a little more, the Supersport S ($ 14,795) adds high performance suspension and clutchless shift.

Moto Guzzi V7 Stone II

Moto Guzzi V7 Stone II - Price: $9000

Last year Guzzi improved the V7 enough to justify the "II" at the end of his name. What you get in this new V7 is a more spacious ride, thanks to a half-inch lower seat and a motor pushed forward in the chassis. Speaking of the engine, there is a new 750 cc, air-cooled V-Twin linked to a six-speed transmission that replaces the old five. And it's not a high power sportbike power train. So here's a bike that always relies on torque and gear to get the riders up to speed rather than high end horsepower. The V7 is not a sportbike but that wonderful V-Twin certainly sounds sweet, and The V7 Stone might have a foothold in the past, but it's actually loaded with technology. Guzzi includes ABS as well as traction control as standard equipment, which makes this good business an excellent one.

Harley-Davidson Road Glide

Harley-Davidson Road Glide - Price: $19,000

The Harley-Davison Road Glide costs some money, that's without debate. The company's biggest bikes always do. But here's the thing, the new Glide is the cheapest bike that Harley-Davidson delivers with its massive new 107-cubic (1753 cc) Milwaukie Eight V-Twin. It is not often that Harley completely redesigns his engines, and this is important because he has to take the company to the future by addressing the most stringent emissions and noise regulations. Harley says the new engine offers more torque (10 percent) thanks to the four valve heads and a compression package. Harley also worked to reduce vibration and heat, while also improving fuel economy. But the new engine is not the only news here, Harley has redesigned the Glide suspension to ride and drive better while also improving the range and ease of adjustment, we that the new fairing is not bad to look at either.

BMW G310R

 BMW G310R - Price: $5,500

You do not usually think of BMW as "cheap" bikes, but the new G 310 R is here to change that. The new motorcycle uses a single cylinder cooled by liquid of 313 cc that supplies 34 HP at 9,500 rpm. And that's a lot because this little bike weighs only 350 pounds. But what makes the new BMW so outstanding in this smaller class of sports bikes is the high level of craftsmanship with which it is built. This does not look or feel like a budget bike. And like the more expensive BMWs, this one is fitted with ABS standard. We are especially in love with the style of the bike, especially when you are using the classic old school BMW white with red stripes and blue paint scheme. BMW has not yet announced prices, but competitors like Honda's CBR300R and Kawasaki's Ninja 300 come in at around $ 5000, so do not expect it to drift too far out of that price range.
